Creatives in Place - Covid 19

No-one need be reminded further about the impact that the pandemic has had on our lives. Photographers, like many other businesses, are trying to find ways to adapt, to implement new ways of working. There are all kinds of new and polluted waters to navigate - putting policies and protocols in place, investigating liability insurance options, etc etc.
One thing most of us are doing less frequently, it seems, is making pictures. I have one recent project to share soon, but beyond that, work is a little hard-to-come-by right now, as it is for many around the globe, regardless of industry.
Wonderful Machine is a marketing platform for photographers, and they've been doing some excellent work in support of creatives during this time . One thing they've been doing is sending out weekly, themed assignments as a means to keep us thinking creatively, problem solve...to shoot, basically. But there's more to it than just that. The resulting files are curated and sent out to agencies and art directors, a means of letting them know of resources the photographer can utilize while shooting from home.
This image up top was cobbled together for a 'Home Improvement'-themed assignment. We recently moved into a new house, about which there is already plenty of ongoing 'home improvement' (don't get me started on how difficult it is to get rid of that Asian Jasmine, or Perfect Snake Habitat' as I've come to think of it). The image was captured through the wonders of a camera self-timer, and the patience of my wife and kids.
The theme for the image below was 'Companionship.' It features my two boys cuddled up in our bed, in a room that happens to get really lovely morning light.

Currently in the shoot planning stages: food and food/lifestyle images (since the kitchen is actually finished.)
